Popular U.S. talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show" is set to travel to Australia in December to film at least two episodes that will air in early 2011. The announcement includes a partnership between Tourism Australia and the Oprah folks which enables Australia to be showcased to audiences worldwide as part of the shows. Tourism Australia chairman Geoff Dixon said his country will be profiled on at least two full episodes. The Oprah show reaches a global audience across 145 countries. Dixon said the fact Winfrey has chosen to share her first visit to Australia with her television audience is a huge backing for the country and provides an amazing opportunity for Australian tourism. “We can showcase why there's nothing like Australia to audiences around the world and encourage them to come and explore our country for themselves whether it's their first time or their fifth time," he said. Audience members attending the show's farewell season premiere episode were given one of the biggest surprises in the Oprah show history when Winfrey announced they were all going to Australia. Winfrey, her staff and 300 of her loyal viewers will spend eight days in Australia in December. The show cameras will be on hand to capture their journeys around Australia as well as bring everyone together at the steps of the Sydney Opera House for a special show featuring Australian talent and special guests. The theme of the Australian visit will be “Oprah's Ultimate Australian Adventure."
