The Sonoran Desert can be blazing hot in the summer, but The Boulders in Carefree, Ariz., outside of Scottsdale, is making margaritas as much a part of golf as drivers and wedges. The off-season savings are pretty cool, too. One of the most picturesque courses in the Valley of the Sun, The Boulders features 36 holes and is offering guests rounds that normally run for $285 US in peak season for $75 from now through Sept. 9. Golfers will also receive a ticket redeemable for one margarita when they book nine holes after 4 p.m. during the same time period. Margaritas are also part of first-night celebrations at the driving range to kick off the Summer Ladies First Golf Package. Friday evening also includes chips, salsa and short game instruction before six hours of instruction and two rounds of golf over the next two days. The program is limited to four women per session and includes casita accommodations, instruction, two rounds and a welcome party, beginning at $649 per person. The Boulders also has an Unlimited Golf Package which includes casita accommodations, unlimited use of the practice facilities, one round of golf per person after the first night's stay, unlimited replays, a $50 daily food and beverage credit, and unlimited access to the Golden Door Spa and fitness facility.
The package runs from June 10 to Aug. 29 with rates starting at $279 for two per night Sunday through Thursday, and $329 Friday and Saturday. For details, see theboulders.com.
