Russell Brand and Katy Perry have flown to the Maldives to start their honeymoon following their wedding in India at the weekend.

The couple exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony at the exotic resort of Aman-I-Khas in Jaipur, Rajasthan in front of family and friends on Oct. 23, 2010.

They reportedly took a helicopter flight to Jaipur airport on Monday and boarded a jet to the Indian Ocean nation of the Maldives.

The couple confirmed the news of their wedding after the event in a joint post on their Twitter.com pages. The newlyweds both wrote, "We did!"
