Toronto is tops on the vacation hit list for most tourists from abroad and from within Canada. With so much to offer as Canada's biggest city, it is easy to see why this is the case. The Family and I made our annual trip to Toronto this summer but this time we are going take you along.
- Ontario Place
Other Obvious Honorable Mentions in the BIG T-O!! St Lawrence Market - timeless and stocked to the hilt with the freshest fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood - you have to make a stop at Front and Jarvis to check this out! Over 50 different vendors await you. That and a world famous peameal bacon sandwich you have to have for lunch and you are good to go. www.stlawrencemarket.com
Ontario Science Centre - A must see for anyone living in, near, or visiting Toronto. Parents of kids 8 and under will love KidSpark - since this third floor hot spot opened in the fall of 2003 the offering has almost doubled... making this a hit with kids and parents. For more info visit their website. www.ontariosciencecentre.ca
Centreville Island - Although we couldn't get there on this trip, I know 5 different families with little ones that have made the trip and truly enjoyed it. They say that the ferry ride to the island alone sets the tone of excitement and that once there is a really fun and relaxed way to enjoy the day. www.centreisland.ca The Eaton Centre- If you plan on shopping downtown at all - I don't think I need to say anything else but go here! Big and airy with an entertaining fountain located in the middle, this is a nice leisurely way to break up your day. www.torontoeatoncentre.com The Hockey Hall of Fame - Sam and I took this in earlier this summer and had a great time! Lots of Memorabilia, all the big trophies combined with a non-stop array of interactive displays makes this a must see for the hockey fan in the family and a great way to revisit our national treasure as a new NHL season FINALLY approaches. www.hhof.com Metro Toronto Zoo - The Zoo has really expanded it's operation the last couple of years and even has a brand new baby gorilla this year! Again, too much to mention - you have to go to their website to get the whole scoop! www.torontozoo.com
