Create your own Jurassic Park this July with dinosaur legend Dr. Philip Currie.

From July 21 to 24, Currie will accompany 25 amateur-paleontologists to the Alberta badlands.

Not only will there be visits to the famed Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller and the Dinosaur Provincial Park Field Station, but the four-day adventure also includes digging at the Albertasaurus bonebeds in Dry Island Provincial Park.

"Dinosaurs have been fascinating people since they were first discovered," says tour organizer Corliss Moore. "Our tour ... provides people with a great learning experience that's lots of fun, too."

Adults and children alike are encouraged to sign up soon, as it's expected to fill up quickly.

The cost is $995 for adults and $795 for children. For that price, one can expect three nights accommodation, meals, admission, a tax receipt and various other dino-related goodies.

More importantly, says Currie, "it gives people an overview of how important the badlands are.

"The impression people get is there's one place. There are many different kinds of sites and it gives people an overview of why Alberta is so important for dinosaurs.

"There's no doubt that people find things. Some very important specimens have been found over the years."

One year, someone discovered an entire dinosaur skeleton. Another found a third of a Gorgosaurus -- a dino in the tyranosaurus family.

If there aren't any whole dinos to dig up, there will still be plenty of other things to see and do, says Currie.

"Everybody gets really excited. These people clearly get the bug like we do."

The tour is recommended for people who can comfortably hike five km over rough terrain, and for children eight and over.
