Evan Lindsay Returns to Raiders - The Prince Albert Raiders announced Monday
the return of overage goaltender Evan Lindsay from Tallahasee of the East
Coast Hockey League. Lindsay was taken in the fourth round, 107th overall
in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadians.
The Prince Albert Raiders traded centerman Dallas Flaman to the Kelowna
Rockets for future considerations.
This move will leave Prince Albert with four 20 year old players in camp and
the team must be down to three by November 1, 1999.
In other news from Prince Albert, forward Scott Hartnell as been named Team
Captain. The team released defenceman Taylor Emmerson and right-winger
Steve Fetter. Emmerson has been assigned to Junior in British Columbia and
Fetter has been assigned to Junior "A" in Melville, Saskatechewan.
Kootenay Ice Complete Seattle Trade - The Kootenay Ice announced on Monday
that right-winger Kyle Wanvig and future considerations had been traded to
Seattle completing the deal that sent centre Zdenek Blatny to the Kootenay
Ice on the 21st of October.
Seattle Trades Wanvig - Just after the Seattle Thunderbirds acquired Kyle
Wanvig from the Kootenay Ice to complete the Zdenek Blatny deal, they traded
him to the Red Deer Rebels for future considerations.
In another move, the Seattle Thunderbirds traded defenceman Chris
Manchakowski to the Saskatoon Blades for future considerations.
Red Deer Rebels Acquire Goaltender - The Red Deer Rebels have acquired
goaltender Aaron Sproule from the Saskatoon Blades for future consideration.
Brad Moran Hits 300-Game Milestone - Brad Moran became the 68th player in
the Western Hockey League history to reach 300 regular season games. He
celebrated this occasion with a goal and an assist as the Hitmen beat the
Pats 5-1 in Regina.
In other news, on Tuesday October 19, Matt Kinch played in his 200th career
game.
Spokane Chiefs Acquire Goaltender - The Spokane Chiefs have acquired
goaltender Tyler MacKay from the Saskatoon Blades for future considerations.
Regina Trades Boogaard - The Regina Pats traded defenceman Derek Boogaard to
the Prince George Cougars for left-winger Johanthan Parker. In another move
the Regina Pats also released Nyjer Morgan and has been assigned to Langley
of the BCHL.
Saskatoon Blades Announce Decision on Memorial Cup - The Saskatoon Blades
announce that they will not bid for the 2000-2001 Memorial Cup Championship.
Jack Brodsky went on to say "They (the Blades) will give serious
consideration to bidding for the event, likely in the autumn of 2002."
Calgary Remains #1 - The Calgary Hitmen remains ranked #1 for the third
straight week in a row in the Bank of Montreal/Mastercard Canadian Hockey
League Rankings.
The Seattle Thunderbirds and the Tri-City Americans have moved down the
rankings, falling to 5th and 10th respectively.
